If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it probably is a Duck! The Stock Market is the biggest organized and profitable casino in the world.

The “money” which is “invested” goes into a big pot and the pretty stock certificates in your hands are in reality the chips.   The people who run the stock market including the brokers are the owners and everyone else is a player.

The concept that you really own a part of American Business is really a myth,  Unless you control 51% of a particular company’s stock.  Great company’s stock goes down, Unheard of companies Stocks goes thru the roof.  The secret is “Implied Value”.  Perceptions and expectations are what drives the markets.   When enough people “think a stock is going to go up – it does” regardless of what the company is actually doing.    Don’t concern your self with that. The real reason you are in the stock market (casino) in the first place, is the “hope” that when you cash in your chips you will get more than you originally paid.   Right?   At this point I should say from this point forward start saying, there are no “good” Stocks or “bad” Stocks, there ARE only stocks that are rising in value and stocks that are decreasing in value.

You are playing against everyone else in the casino and they are playing against you.  The reality is that when you win, some one else is probably going to lose and vice versa.   The dealers (brokers) really don’t want you to sit on the side lines, they want you to make bet after bet because their income/profit is connected to every buy and sell order they get in the form of commissions.     Ever wonder why if you ask your broker for help he will never tell you that your portfolio is fine.  Rather, “you need to consolidate, diversify, reposition”, in fact just do anything as long as it involves generating the Casio more commissions.  Rule: Don’t rely on others for information who aren’t tied to your success.    When you win, they win, when you lose, they should lose.

There are times when a “common” person makes a single bet and comes out a BIG winner.      This is what motivates most of us to play the game in the first place. Greed!   Yep, nasty little word that has got the human race into trouble more than a few times.  Don’t worry; just tell your friends you are “ambitious”!

Ever notice the term “Playing the Stock Market”.   There is more truth in that then you probably previously thought.     It is a neat proposition.   Put you money on the line and if you make the right bet you walk away with a handsome profit.     Well, I’ve got great news for you!   You can be a huge winner! How much you win will depend upon how smart you are, whether you are disciplined, how much money you are willing to “put into play” and if you have a “system” for beating the odds.
